Butter Cookies

This is kind of a joke but also I am being serious. I was searching for a minimal ingredient dessert recipe.

I found this “150-year-old cookie recipe” containing 3 ingredients. Butter, Sugar, and Flour. I gave it a try and it’s delicious. Reminds me of the classic buttery Spritz cookies my mom makes during the holidays. But way easier since I didn’t need to wrangle that Spritz device and clean it!

I see myself using these cookies as an ice cream topping in the near future. Here is the recipe so that you can try them for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 125 grams of salted butter (softened to room temperature)

  • 100 grams of light brown sugar

  • 150 grams of flour

Instructions:

  1. Add butter, sugar, and flour to a mixing bowl. Knead everything by hand until well mixed and you can form a ball of dough.

  2. Let dough chill for 20 minutes in the fridge.

  3. Preheat oven to 305 degrees F. Make 25 small round balls and place them on a baking tray.

  4. Gently press the pattern into the dough with a fort. Bake for 20 minutes.
